-
Q: Why were these universities selected?
A: These schools were invited to participate based on the size and diversity of their student body, logistical considerations, and geographical location.
-
Q: How do I catch a ride in the Aveo5 College Cab if it’s coming to my school?
A: If you’re over 18 years of age and a student at one of these six universities, you’re eligible to take a ride in the Chevy Aveo5 College Cab when it comes to your campus (see question one for complete list of schools and dates). Simply keep your eye out for the vehicle, and if its rooftop light is illuminated, wave at the Aveo5 College Cab to hail it as you would any other cab.
-
Q: How do I make a good video?
A: Like any video, the more entertaining, the more popular it is! Students who take a ride in the Chevy Aveo5 College Cab are encouraged to entertain viewers whether that means singing an original song, recounting an amusing story or simply exhibiting their outgoing personalities in an entertaining way. (Keep in mind, no vulgar or slanderous language or other inappropriate behavior will be tolerated.)
-
Q: Who can ride in the Aveo5 College Cab?
A: Any student over the age of 18 who is enrolled at one of the universities the Chevy Aveo5 College Cab will be visiting this fall is eligible for a ride.
-
Q: Can I ride in the Aveo5 College Cab more than once during the week?
A: Unfortunately not. We want to give as many students as possible a chance to ride in the Aveo5 College Cab, so we won’t be providing repeat rides to students.
-
Q: When and where will the video from my Aveo5 College Cab ride be posted?
A: Your video will be posted the day after it is filmed to your school’s video gallery at www.AveoLivinLarge.com.
-
Q: How do I get my video to advance to the final round?
A: If you have the most viewed video from your university after all the videos from your school have been posted on www.AveoLivinLarge.com for one week, your video will go on to compete in the final round of competition from Nov. 10-14, 2008. During this five-day period, you will compete for video votes (not views as in round one). This will enable viewers to watch all videos and then cast their vote for their favorite(s).
-
Q: If someone watches my video more than once, will it be counted as a view more than once?
A: Yes. As long as they watch the video all the way through. If they watch only part of it, it will not be counted as a view.
-
Q: During the final round, can people cast more than one vote for their favorite video?
A: Yes, you can cast more than one vote for your favorite video. You can also vote for more than one video. There is no limit to the number of times you vote, but you must watch the video all the way through in order to cast your vote.
-
Q: How will it be kept fair if my ride happens later in the week than someone else’s from my school? Will they have more time to capture views?
A: Each individual video will have a view counter and countdown clock. You have exactly seven days from the date and time your video is posted to get as many views on your video as possible before your view counter is frozen. That means no matter when you take a ride in the cab during the week, you will have the same amount of time as all other students to secure video views.
-
Q: How will I know when my video expires?
A: A countdown clock next to your video will display how many days and hours are left until your video counter is frozen. After your video view counter is frozen, people can still view your video, but their view will not be counted.
-
Q: How can I secure lots of video views?
A: The www.AveoLivinLarge.com site makes it easy for you to spread your video to as many people as possible! Once your video has been posted to www.AveoLivinLarge.com, you’ll see a link next to it that allows you to add the video to your Facebook or MySpace page. It also includes a “Send to a Friend” link and a button you can click to print a flyer containing your video’s unique URL that you can then post around campus. You can also add your video’s URL to your Twitter or Facebook status box. In addition, you should tell everyone you know to watch your video all the way through as many times as possible!
-
Q: During the final round of competition, why does it switch from number of views to number of votes to determine the winner?
A: We want you to watch all the videos before casting a vote so you can truly vote for your favorite, but we don’t want you to be deterred from doing so out of hesitance for adding to another video’s view count. So during the final round of competition votes, not views, determine the winner.
-
Q: Would both students win their own Aveo5 if their video is the overall winner?
A: Yes
-
Q: What fees and/or taxes will the final winners need to expect to pay?
A: Unless otherwise provided by law, winners are responsible for all taxes and expenses, which could include but not be limited to: sales tax, luxury tax, destination charges, registration, title and license fees, insurance and all other costs incurred in claiming, registering or using the vehicle. We encourage winners to check with their local/state agencies to confirm which taxes and fees apply.
-
Q: How can site visitors also win a prize?
A: Anyone over the age of 18 who visits the site and watches a video all the way through will have an opportunity to enter a contest to win a Chevy iPod. They will need to fill in a little bit of information when prompted at the end of viewing a video on the site. At the end of the final round of competition on Nov. 14, 2008, six random winners will be selected to receive an iPod. Entering the contest is totally optional, and your video view or vote will still count even if you decide not to enter the contest.
-
Q: Do I have to pay to hitch a ride in the Chevy Aveo5 College Cab?
A: No, you need not pay a thing! All rides in the Aveo5 College Cab are free. You will also receive a stash of goodies upon exiting the vehicle.
-

-
Q: Where can I look for the Aveo5 College Cab on campus and during what hours?
