Livin’ Large in Aveo5 (“Challenge”) starts on Monday, September 29, 2008 at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time (“ET”) and ends on Friday, November 14, 2008 at 11:59 p.m. ET (“Challenge Period”).
ELIGIBILITY: Challenge is open to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and District of Columbia who are of legal age of majority in the jurisdiction in which they reside (and at least 18). Employees of General Motors Corporation (“Sponsor”), Weber Shandwick (“Administrator”), and their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, dealerships and promotion and advertising agencies, and members of their immediate family (spouse and parent, children and siblings and their respective spouses, regardless of where they reside) and persons living in the same household, whether or not related, of such employees, are not eligible to participate or become the Challenge Champion. Void where prohibited by law. Challenge is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws.
HOW TO ENTER: During the Challenge Period, the Aveo5 Cab will be visiting the cities of each of the following six (6) college/universities (each, a “Participating School”), each for a seven (7) day period specified below. Dates and Participating Schools are subject to change by Administrator:

Aveo5 Cab will provide a maximum of ten (10) rides each day on each campus between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. local time. To participate as a rider, an individual must visit the designated area on the campus of the applicable Participating School from which the Aveo5 Cab will be picking up passengers. Rides will be provided on a first come, first served basis or will be selected by Administrator randomly or through any other process Administrator determines in its sole discretion. Administrator also reserves the right to increase the number of rides available on each campus. Administrator does not guarantee that every individual who wishes to participate will be provided the opportunity to do so. Prior to participating, an individual will be required to sign a Participant Release that will be provided by an Administrator. The Participant Release will include, among other provisions, the right of Administrator to produce and use Ride Footage (as defined below) and a complete release of liability with respect to the rider’s participation in the Challenge. If any individual fails to sign such release, he/she will not be permitted to ride in the Aveo5 Cab. Cab rides are only one-way and driver of Cab can take any route he or she determines. Length of any ride will generally not exceed three (3) miles. No more than two (2) individuals may ride together. Cab driver can remove any person from the cab if one or more of the riders engage in disruptive, abusive or inappropriate behavior at any time during the ride, as driver determines in his or her sole discretion, and riders will be disqualified and unable to participate further in the Challenge.
During the ride, participant will be filmed (“Ride Footage”). The Ride Footage of a each participant will be edited by Administrator into a 2 ½ to 3 minute video which will be posted in that participant’s Participating School’s gallery on www.aveolivinlarger.com (“Website”) at or around 5:00 p.m. ET the day following that participant’s ride (“Submission”). Participants will have no right to approve the Ride Footage and Administrator shall be free to edit the footage of his/her ride as it determines in its sole discretion. The Submission posted online will be final.
During the production of the Ride Footage, and at any other time in connection with their participation in the Challenge, participants may not do any of the following as determined by the Administrator, in its sole discretion:
By participating, participants understand that they may be disqualified if they engage in any activities, whether during the cab ride or otherwise that do not conform to these Official Rules in any way as determined by Administrator, in its sole discretion. Participants further understand that by participating they grant permission for the Submission to be posted on www.aveolivinlarge.com or other websites by Sponsor, and otherwise used exclusively by Sponsor for promotional and other purposes in any and all media now or hereafter known in perpetuity throughout the world without notice or compensation to, or approval from participants. Participant understands and agrees that Released Parties (as defined below) are not responsible for any unauthorized use of Submissions by third parties. Released Parties do not guarantee the posting of any Submission.
HOW TO BECOME A FINALIST: A participant whose Submission is posted on the Website will have exactly seven (7) days from the date and time the Submission is posted to get as many people to watch his/her Submission in its entirely (“Viewing Period”). Sponsor hereby grants each participant a limited, non-exclusive and revocable license to send the Submission to his/her friends via a link in an email, embed the Submission on his/her Facebook, MySpace, Bebo or other social network page or personal blog, etc. The Submission link will contain a view counter that will count how many individuals watch the Submission in its entirety. Individuals who do not watch the Submission in its entirety, as determined by Administrator, in its sole discretion, will not be counted. The number on this view counter at the end of the Viewing Period will be considered the final number of views and Submission received. Individuals may watch your Submission as many times as they wish. Each time an individual watches your Submission, it will count towards the number of times your Submission was viewed.Please Note: Participants are prohibited for posting the Submission link on any area of the website that is inappropriate, obscene or that Sponsor determines in its sole discretion is not in keeping with its image. Any views obtained via this manner or by using script, macro or other automated means or other means with the intent to subvert or unfairly impact the viewing process, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion, may be void. Participants are prohibited from obtaining views by any fraudulent or inappropriate means, including, without limitation, offering prizes or other inducements to members of the public, as determined by Administrator in its sole discretion. Administrator may revoke at any time the right of any participant to continue to link or post the Submission, and may initiate take down requests and other action with respect to any sites, networks, or other venues on which the Submission has been posted, with or without notice to participant.
The participant from each Participating School who obtains the most views, as determined by Administrator in its sole discretion, will be deemed a “Finalist”. There will be one (1) Finalist from each Participating School for a total of six (6) Finalists. Administrator reserves the right to not select a Finalist for any Participating School if, in its sole discretion, it does not receive a sufficient number of eligible and qualified Ride Footage for such Participating School. In the event of a tie for the place as a Finalist of any Participating School, the participant who obtains the most number of views in the shortest period of time, as determined by Administrator, in its sole discretion, will be deemed the Finalist for that Participating School.
CHALLENGE CHAMPION DETERMINATION: Finalists’ Submissions will be featured between 5:01 p.m. ET on November 10, 2008 and 11:59 p.m. ET on November 14, 2008 (“Voting Period”). During the Voting Period, individuals will be able to watch the Submissions in their entirety and select their favorite Finalist. An individual must watch the Submission in its entirety in order to cast his/her vote. Individuals who do not watch the Submission in its entirety, as determined by Administrator, in its sole discretion, will not be permitted to cast a vote. The number on a video's vote counter at the end of the Voting Period will be considered the final number of votes received. Individuals may vote for your Submission as many times as they wish and may vote for as many Submissions as they wish. Each time an individual votes for your Submission, it will count towards the number of times your Submission was voted on. Please Note: Participants are prohibited for posting the Submission link on any area of the website that is inappropriate, obscene or that Sponsor determines in its sole discretion is not in keeping with its image.
CHALLENGE CHAMPION NOTIFICATION: Administrator’s and Sponsor’s decisions are final and binding on all matters relating to this Challenge. Potential Challenge Champion (or Challenge Champions if Submission includes two (2) people) will be notified by telephone, mail and/or email and may be required to complete any further documents, including, without limitation, an Affidavit of Eligibility required by Administrator, which must be returned within five (5) days of date appearing on the notification. Return of any notification as undeliverable, failure to sign and return requested documentation within the specified time period, the inability of Administrator to contact a potential Challenge Champion within a reasonable time period or noncompliance with these Official Rules by any potential Challenge Champion will result in disqualification and, at Administrator’s sole discretion, the vehicle may be awarded to a runner-up. If potential Challenge Champion is an eligible minor in his/her jurisdiction of residence, Administrator reserves the right to award the vehicle in the name of his/her parent or legal guardian who will be responsible for fulfilling all requirements imposed on Challenge Champion(s) set forth herein.
CHALLENGE AWARD: A 2009 Chevy Aveo5. Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (“MSRP”): $12,170. If Submission selected as the Challenge Champion contains two (2) individuals, each individual will receive the vehicle. All vehicle details, including color and options, will be determined solely by Sponsor in its sole discretion. Challenge Champion(s) must take delivery of vehicle from the dealership designated by Sponsor, or as otherwise instructed by Sponsor. All costs and expenses related to vehicle acceptance and use not specified herein as being awarded are the responsibility of Challenge Champion(s), including, but not limited to, all federal, state and local taxes (including income taxes), title, insurance, license and registration fees. Challenge Champion(s) will be required to present a valid U.S. driver’s license and proof of appropriate insurance as a condition of receiving vehicle. Maximum ARV of each vehicle: $12,170. Vehicle awarded “as is” with no warranty or guarantee, either express or implied by Sponsor. Challenge Champion(s) may not substitute, assign or transfer vehicle or redeem vehicle for cash, but Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to substitute vehicle with one of comparable or greater value.
GENERAL CONDITIONS: By participating, each participant agrees: (a) to abide by these Official Rules and decisions of Administrator, Sponsor and judges, which shall be final and binding in all respects relating to this Challenge; (b) to release, discharge and hold harmless Sponsor, Weber Shandwick, and their respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, and advertising and promotion agencies, and the respective officers, directors, shareholders, employees, agents and representatives of the forgoing (collectively, “Released Parties”) from any and all injuries, liability, losses and damages of any kind to persons, including death, or property resulting, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from participant’s participation in the Challenge (including any injury or harm resulting from cab ride) or any Challenge-related activity or the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of vehicle (including any harm/injury caused from the use of a vehicle); (c) that the Ride Footage and any other materials produced by Administrator or its designees shall be owned exclusively by Sponsor throughout the universe in perpetuity and may be used by Sponsor in any and all media now or hereafter known without any further obligation to participant or any third party, and (d) to the use of his/her name, voice, performance, photograph/video, image and/or likeness for programming, advertising, publicity and promotional purposes in any and all media, now or hereafter known, worldwide and on the Internet, and in perpetuity by Sponsor and its designees, without compensation (unless prohibited by law) or additional consents from participant or any third party and without prior notice, approval or inspection, and to execute specific consent to such use if asked to do so. By participating, participant also agrees not to release any publicity or other materials on their own or through someone else regarding their participation in the Challenge without the prior consent of the Sponsor, which it may withhold in its sole discretion.
MISCELLANEOUS: To the extent of any conflict between these Official Rules and the Terms of Use on any Sponsor owned or controlled site, these Official Rules will control but only to the extent the conflict relates to the Challenge. Released Parties are not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, damaged, inaccurate, stolen, delayed, misdirected, undelivered, or garbled Ride Footage or Submissions; or for lost, interrupted or unavailable network, server, Internet Service Provider (ISP), website, or other connections, availability or accessibility or miscommunications or failed computer, satellite, telephone or cable transmissions, lines, or technical failure or jumbled, scrambled, delayed, or misdirected transmissions or computer hardware or software malfunctions, failures or difficulties, or other errors or difficulties of any kind whether human, mechanical, electronic, computer, network, typographical, printing or otherwise relating to or in connection with the Challenge, including, without limitation, errors or difficulties which may occur in connection with the administration of the Challenge, the processing of Ride Footage and Submissions, the tabulation of views or votes, the announcement of the Challenge award, or in any Challenge-related materials. Released Parties are also not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by site users, tampering, hacking, or by any equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Challenge. Released Parties are not responsible for injury or damage to any person's computer related to or resulting from participating in this Challenge or downloading materials from or use of the website. Persons who tamper with or abuse any aspect of the Challenge or website, who act in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner or who are in violation of these Official Rules, as solely determined by Sponsor, will be disqualified and all associated Submissions will be void. Should any portion of the Challenge be, in Sponsor’s sole opinion, compromised by virus, worms, bugs, non-authorized human intervention or other causes which, in the sole opinion of the Sponsor, corrupt or impair the administration, security, fairness or proper play, or submission of Submissions, Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to suspend, modify or terminate the Challenge and, if terminated, at its discretion, select the potential Challenge Champion from all eligible, non-suspect Submissions received prior to action taken using the judging procedure outlined above. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE THE WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST MAY BE IN VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES AND OTHER REMEDIES (INCLUDING ATTORNEYS’ FEES) FROM ANY SUCH INDIVIDUAL TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW, INCLUDING CRIMINAL PROSECUTION.
